EBA Risk Management October Meeting – The Semi-Annual Market Update
What’s Next? How the Fed’s Rate Cut Will Impact CRE Markets and the Broader Economy
Date: Wednesday, October 16, 2024
Time: 12:00 PM ET/ 9:00 AM PT
ERIS’ Dave Colonna, Director, Lender Services, speaks with John H. Wright, Jr., MAI, Senior Managing Director, BBG, about the dynamics of recent trends and what they mean for commercial real estate (CRE).
In September the Federal Reserve slashed interest rates by 50 basis points in an effort to avoid an economic slowdown. While this was a welcome and much needed step, many questions remain. What impact will this have on commercial real estate? How aggressive will the Fed be when they meet again in November, December and next year? When can we expect to see transaction levels start to rise and prices begin to normalize?
John and Dave will discuss these questions and more as they navigate what the future could hold and look towards indicators for 2025.
